Hamlet marked the Gazebo directorial debut of Benjamin Medeiros. Ben chose to set the play in the Wild West in order to emphasize the themes of betrayal and revenge, and to lend the tragedy an aesthetic more suited to outdoor performance.
Hamlet was performed at Meetinghouse Pond in Medfield--the first year away from our eponymous gazebo, as new construction in the town center made the space no longer suitable for performance. We also returned to Choate Park in Medway and Bird Park in Walpole.
